In New York, only five of the 150 statues are of named women, but there are a plethora of unnamed ones including caryatids, stone columns in the shape of women serving as architectural support for buildings. Freestanding is an interactive projection mapping installation projecting footage of the various caryatids in windows across Brooklyn. Projections dynamically change as pedestrians walk closer to the projection, erasing her surroundings to unveil a freestanding sculpture.
